Day 45: Humphrey Steals Meat from Gilka

David’s Report. Figan fed on ngazi with Nope and Mustard and later Fifi in Kasakela before resting for an hour from 0835 to 0935 before hitting Camp. There he stayed five hours with Evered, Patti, and Satan. Later Humphrey, Jomeo, and Mike joined them. Some interesting ASSR as discussed in ASR report of this summary. Figan mainly groomed with Jomeo (two hours) and then Mike and Hugo. The main event of the day was when Sherry came up submissively bobbing and pant-grunting and started to groom Figan upon arrival. Then Figan started to mutual with Sherry and then Figan even groomed Sherry. Sherry several times presented to Figan for grooming and several times Figan groomed Sherry. Figan groomed Sherry 6 minutes; Sherry groomed Figan for 9 minutes, and they mutually groomed for 14 minutes.
Gilka (age 14 ) sits in camp. 
At 1510 Figan led the other chimps out of Camp to the northwest and they all soon arrived displaying to the Mess’s mumanda tree. Figan displayed several times there and Evered was submissive. Figan displayed across the Mess’s roof. They slowly traveled to Mkenke. Jomeo leaving. Satan, Patti, Mike, Humphrey, Evered, and Figan were climbing the southern side of Lower Mkenke when they heard some vocalization which sent them back into Mkenke displaying.

They soon found Gilka in a high tree with a piece of meat, either a bird or a small animal or perhaps a piece of primate monkey. Humphrey stole it soon after and Mike begged from him for the next hour as Figan, Satan, Evered sat and waited (see Predation Report).
ASSR Details. Many in Camp; Figan arrives the same time that Satan, Sherry, and Evered arrive. Satan comes in from the south as Figan arrives hair-out from the west. Sherry and Evered arrive from the northeast silently at the same time. Evered full-open-grin, bob, pant-grunt to Figan, and Figan charges. Satan full-open-grin. Sherry bob, pant-grunt, full-open-grin, approach Figan (hair-out). Sherry grooms Figan. After 5 minutes Figan mutual with Sherry.
Many [human] guests are in Camp and Figan moves off to the east and looks back up to where Satan and Evered groom. He does a display after 15 minutes of hair-out rocking periodically. He charges across the banana trench while Evered is pant-grunting and bobbing, and Satan pant-grunts. He runs nearly into Jomeo, who is just arriving from south and Figan doesn’t know it. Jomeo avoids into tree and Figan follows and full-open-grin scream with hair-out mount embrace Jomeo who avoids after a few seconds and Figan reappears and grooms Jomeo for 2 hours mutual.
Lower Mkenke valley.
Nesting Details. He waited around for one hour in Mkenke while Humphrey and Mike ate meat; all nested together high up in a tree at 1930.
Four-Day Summary. Travel to Mkenke by Mike, Humphrey, Figan, and Faben; Figan predation of a colobus; lone travel and Figan grooming Sherry and the boys discovering Gilka in Mkenke with meat are the INTERESTING POINTS for these follows.
Gigi was down but coming up. Sherry mated her on Day 43 in a greeting, but Faben did not mate her until Day 47 and then only once. Figan waited until Day 50, Faben on Day 49. Patti still down.
